It would be a shame for such an important character to that corner of the Marvel Universe be left out of all the fun Ewing and Nie are cooking up. Perhaps Cassie Lang will get a story of her own? She's been Stature and Stinger, but never Ant-Man or Wasp. Marvel also teased that the Wasp's upcoming limited series will directly tie into another miniseries written by Ewing later next year. Surely, Ewing and Nie's story will bring new insight to Wasp's Silver Age adventures as well as set the stage for Janet and Nadia's future adventures. She’s unstoppable." One of the more difficult parts of Janet's past recently returned to the spotlight in Wasp's Darkhold one-shot from Jordie Bellaire, Claire Roe, VC's Clayton Cowles, Alanna Smith, and Sarah Brunstad. In the same announcement from Marvel, artist Kasia Nie also took a moment to share why the underrated Avenger remains one of her favorite Marvel heroes, " a mature person with an uneasy past, a successful woman and the best mom to Nadia. In the recent Wasp announcement from Marvel, Ewing shared, " the Ant-Man series was a whole lot of fun and gave me a new appreciation for Janet Van Dyne and her world - and when I went digging into her past, there was a whole story there just waiting to be unearthed." The limited series promises to focus on Jan as she enters a new era of her career in superheroics alongside Nadia, and they are set to face a new threat that has ties to both of their pasts. Al Ewing is also the writer for Ant-Man's ongoing anniversary mini and was inspired to tell a Janet-centered story while working on the project. Artist Tom Reilly is onboard the project for the covers, and the two released so far mirror the bold designs he's contributed to the 60th anniversary Ant-Man series. While it may be a tad overdue, Marvel has put together an all-star creative team behind the upcoming Wasp mini with X-Men Red writer Al Ewing and Mockingbird artist Kasia Nie.
